WC tennis defeated Ridgeland 6-1

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Warren Central High School defeated Ridgeland 6-1 on March 17 at Rosa Scott, winning six of seven matches in dominant fashion.

In boys singles play, Whitt Loper earned a straight-sets victory over G. Singh, 6-1, 6-0.

Makayla Bufkin picked up a win in girls singles, defeating K. Herring 6-1, 6-1.

The Vikings swept both boys doubles matches. In No. 1 doubles, Sam Harris and Brady Taylor shut out H. Pickett and A. Talwar 6-0, 6-0. In No. 2 doubles, Luke Bond and Duke Esparza defeated J. Love and L. Miller 6-1, 6-0.

Warren Central also dominated in girls doubles. Sydney Sullivan and Lilli Feibelman cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over A. Brown and B. Barnes in the No. 1 spot. Ellie Tennison and Avery Hern followed with another 6-0, 6-0 victory over E. Majors and E. Williams in No. 2 doubles.

Ridgeland’s lone win came in mixed doubles, where J. Gaylor and A. Brinson defeated Caden Crews and Annie Tucker Hossley 2-6, 7-6, 10-0.
