WC took down Murrah 66-42 on Thursday

Warren Central High School boys’ basketball team secured a 66-42 win over Murrah on Thursday.

The Vikings quickly took a 13-3 lead after Gaylon Turner hit a couple of shots while Robert Williams and Roosevelt Harris contributed at the free throw line. Harris knocked down a 3-pointer in the second quarter along with a couple of more shots as Jaylon Winters stepped up and hit a few. WC went up 35-19 at halftime.

Coming out of the halftime, WC kept up their excellent play, beginning with a nasty block from Garrett Orgas Fisher. Turner popped a cold 3-pointer while Orgas dominated inside the paint to give the Vikings a 52-28 lead.

WC eventually took the 66-42 win to improve to 4-5 on the year under Head Coach Keith Williams.

Turner led with 17 points and Fisher put up 14 in the win. Harris scored 13 points while Robert    Williams and Winters added five. Jonathan Henderson finished with four points while Prince Marshall and Daniel Brown.  Ronnie Blossom hit a free throw and Alan Stauts hit a nice 3-pointer.

WC will travel to play Wingfield on Tuesday.

Lady Vikes:

WC took a 52-16 loss as Mariah Burnett scored seven points and Sharmaia Hodge added four.
