Gators defeated Natchez 81-64 on Thursday; Missy Gator fell short in close game

Vicksburg High School boys’ basketball team improved to 8-1 after defeating Natchez 81-64 on Thursday night.

The Gators took a 17-11 first quarter lead after Davian William and Kealon Bass both knocked down 3-pointers. Mikey Johnson hit a 3-pointer in the second quarter while Tyler Henderson pitched in a few points.

Williams finished the night 17 points and Kam Bailey added 15 on the board. Johnson scored 10 points and Bass put up nine while Henderson contributed eight. Jaylin Jackson put up seven and Lazaveon Sylvester scored six.

Decorey Knight Jr. scored four points and Javeion Perkins added four.

Missy Gators:

The Missy Gators fell  short in a 60-58 loss. Kierra James led with 22 points and Terri Boyd scored 14. Cynia Johnson added nine on the board while Clajessa Albert, Saudia Stewart and Jordan Grace all had three points. Rodrianna Hall and Jada Erwin both scored two points.

The Gators will play Port Gibson on Saturday, beginning at 2:30 with JV boys, 3:30 varsity girls and 5:00 varsity boys.
