WC took down Murrah on Thursday

Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central High School soccer team picked up wins over Murrah High School on Thursday.

Girls:

The lady Vikes grabbed a 3-1 win on the road. The first goal was scored in the 12th minute by Allie Mason on an assist by Evella Fairley. WC scored the second goal off a corner kick by Jordan Polk, 23 minutes into the game.

Coming out of halftime, the Lady Mustangs scored on a breakaway to get on the board.

Jordan Polk scored again in the 64th minute on a shot that deflected off the defender and into the goal to seal the win.

WC will play Brookhaven and North Pike on Saturday in Brookhaven. 

Boys:

The Vikings shutout the Mustangs 4-0 as Luke Bond scored two goals. Daniel Westcott and Jacob Porter both scored once. Porter and Jamarian Shelly each had one assist while Duke Esparza had two assists. Shelly also had five saves while Jackson Holden made multiple successful defensive plays.

The boys are now 6-0-1 on the year.
