Warren Central High School’s baseball team secured a commanding 7-1 victory against North Pike on Friday.

The game started with Hayes Loper and Trace Hood hitting early doubles, with Conner Watkins adding a single, but despite their efforts, Warren Central couldn’t score in the
beginning. It was North Pike who managed to earn the first run of the night in the second inning.

However, the Vikings turned the tide in the fourth inning. Maddox Lynch kicked off the inning with a double, followed by a spectacular three-run home run by Cole Autrey, propelling
Warren Central to a 3-1 lead. The fifth inning saw Cade Fairley, Lynch, and Watkins contributing RBIs, pushing the Vikings further ahead to lead 6-1. Loper sealed the victory with another run in the sixth inning after a crucial
single.

Hood and Loper stood out at the plate, going 2 for 4 each, while Lester Martin, Autrey (3 RBls), Watkins (1 RBI), Lynch, and Fairley (1 RBI) all had one hit. Pitcher Brooks Willoughby impressed with five strikeouts, supported by Zach Ashley and Ryan Steed, each striking out one batter.

With this win, the Vikings improve to a 2-3 record and are set to take on Starkville on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
