VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central softball standout Whitley Parks has committed to continue her athletic and academic career at Belhaven University, announcing her decision Thursday during the school’s athletic signing day.

Parks is currently playing under head coach Brian Ellis at Warren Central High School, where the Lady Vikes are competing in the playoffs. She has a .324 batting average, 11 hits, and 15 RBIs.

With the help of the senior outfielder, WC finished second in the district and defeated Saltillo twice in the first round of the playoffs. Parks and the Lady Vikes will face South Panola tonight for game two of the second round.

VDN will catch up with Whitley at her initial signing day.
