14-yea-old Charged With Murder After Allegedly Killing His Father

Forrest County, Mississippi-A 14-year-old has been arrested in Forrest County after he allegedly shot and killed his father. Taurence Everett was arrested on Tuesday after a shooting occurred on Scenic Drive in the Glendale Community.

Thomas Everett has been identified as the deceased and earlier reports indicate that he was shot twice. The 14-year-old was arrested at another home just a mile away and was charged as an adult with First Degree Murder.

Taurence Everett had his initial court appearance on Thursday where a judge set his bond at $250,000. He is now housed at the Forrest County Jail and if he ever makes bail he will have to wear an ankle monitor. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim’s family and must undergo a mental evaluation once a month.
