19-year-old shot and killed in Vicksburg

March 11, 2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. — Officers from the Vicksburg Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Locust and Jefferson Streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after, E911 dispatch notified officers that two additional gunshot victims had arrived at the hospital.
Through further investigation, officers determined that the incident originated inside an apartment where a significant quantity of drugs was recovered. The investigation remains active as detectives work to gather video footage and witness statements to identify those involved.

Three people have been shot in Vicksburg on Tuesday night.
Just before 11 p.m., 3 people were wounded in a shootout that took place near Locust and Jefferson.
Neighbors reported hearing shots just before police were seen in the area. One unit found a young man in a gray Honda on Jefferson Street, just west of Farmer Street. Medical Units were dispatched to that location.
They were observed working on him for some time before putting him on a stretcher. He appeared to be unresponsive.
Around the same time, two individuals showed up at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. It is believed they were injured in the same shooting incident.
A large contingency of County Deputies and Vicksburg Police, including Investigators were at the hospital. Several individuals who identified themselves as family or friends of the victims were also at the hospital.
