Three Shot in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Three people have been shot in Vicksburg on Tuesday night.

Just before 11 p.m., 3 people were wounded in a shootout that took place near Locust and Jefferson.

Neighbors reported hearing shots just before police were seen in the area. One unit found a young man in a gray Honda on Jefferson Street, just west of Farmer Street. Medical Units were dispatched to that location.

They were observed working on him for some time before putting him on a stretcher. He appeared to be unresponsive.

Around the same time, two individuals showed up at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. It is believed they were injured in the same shooting incident.

A large contingency of County Deputies and Vicksburg Police, including Investigators were at the hospital. Several individuals who identified themselves as family or friends of the victims were also at the hospital.

The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story if the Vicksburg Police Department releases any information on the shooting.
