Vikings shutout Columbus in a Monday night doubleheader

Warren Central High School baseball team improved to 11-10 on the season after crushing Columbus in a doubleheader.

In game one, the Vikings came away with a 16-0 shutout victory. Hayes Loper finished with two hits which included two doubles and four RBIs. Cade Fairley also hit a double to go with his two hits and four RBIs.

Conner Watkins(1 RBI), Lester Martin(1 RBI), Cole Autrey(1 RBI) and Jack Esparza all had one hit. Maddox Lynch hit an RBI.

Senior Ryan Nelson struck out two batters and allowed zero hits.

In game two, WC shutout Columbus 15-0 where Watkins, Lynch, Nelson and Loper all hit doubles.

Watkins(5 RBIs) and Nelson(2 RBIs) both ended the night with three hits while Lynch(1 RBI), Fairley, Lester Martin(1 RBI), Loper, Trace Hood, Autrey(2 RBIs) and Talan Patel(2 RBIs) all had one hit.

Sophomore Nathaniel Moore struck out eight batter and only allowed one hit.

The Vikings will host Vicksburg High on Tuesday.
