More Severe Weather expected this afternoon while thousands still without power

Thousands still remain without power after last nights storm felled trees across the county, causing major damage to structures and roadways. More severe weather is to be expected this afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 4pm and 5pm. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Some of the storms could be severe.
