19-year-old indicted on molesting charge in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A 19-year-old Vicksburg man has been indicted on a molestation charge following a Warren County grand jury decision.

Dariyon Bankhead was indicted in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred on or about Nov. 28-29, 2024, in Vicksburg. According to the indictment, the victim was under the age of 15 at the time of the alleged offense.

The Warren County District Attorney’s Office is now handling the case. The matter could proceed to trial or be resolved through a plea agreement. Under Mississippi law, a molestation conviction carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The trial term is set for March 16-March 27, 2026.
