St. Aloysius Junior High sweeps Manchester Academy in boys and girls victories
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius Junior High School swept Manchester Academy on Monday night as both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams picked up wins in a strong showing for the Flashes.
The St. Al boys earned a 33-15 victory behind a balanced offensive effort. Kellen Crocker led the way with 12 points, pacing a Flashes offense that controlled the game from start to finish. Reeves Sadler added seven points, while Adam Dorbeck contributed six. Noah Ponder and Carter Luttrell scored four points each to round out the attack as St. Al maintained consistent momentum throughout the night.
The Lady Flashes followed with a tight 26-24 win over the Lady Mavericks, sealing the sweep. Joy Dement powered St. Al with a game-high 13 points, including three made 3-pointers that provided critical separation in a back-and-forth matchup. Addy Hardaway scored four points, while Kelci Bingham added five. Reese Lyons and Kennadi Blassingame chipped in two points as the Lady Flashes held off a late push from Manchester.
Manchester was led by C. Jones with 10 points in the girls’ contest, followed by M. Foster with six and Carpenter with four.
Both St. Aloysius squads continued their early-season momentum with the pair of victories, showcasing depth, teamwork, and strong defensive efforts across the board.
