St. Aloysius defeated Cathedral in a close 60-55 win
NATCHEZ, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius High School’s boys’ basketball team edged out Natchez Cathedral 60-55 on Monday night in a competitive matchup that came down to the final minutes. The Lady Flashes, meanwhile, fell 43-21 to Cathedral in the girls’ game.
In the boys’ contest, Carson Gleese powered the Flashes with a dominant 29-point performance while also pulling down six rebounds. Garrod Bunch followed with 17 points and four assists as St. Al maintained momentum throughout the night.
Carson Henderson added six points and five rebounds, helping the Flashes control the boards in crucial moments. Carter Henderson contributed four points and four rebounds, while Sadler Lambiotte supplied two points, six rebounds and three assists in a well-rounded effort. Tre Lee also scored two points to help St. Al seal the win.
The victory pushed the Flashes to a strong early-season showing as they continued to find consistent offensive production across the roster.
In the girls’ matchup, St. Aloysius fell 43-21 despite a balanced scoring effort. Taryn Lusby led the Lady Flashes with five points, while Kennadi Blassingame followed with four. Kelci Bingham scored three points, and Elle Larson, Mallory Hobson, Megan Theriot and Farrell Roberson each added two. Annslee Averett rounded out the scoring with one point.
