Kaitlyn Davis earns Miss Congeniality title at 53rd Annual Debutante Ball
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Kaitlyn Davis, a Vicksburg native, was named Miss Congeniality 2026 at the 53rd Annual Debutante Ball held Saturday at the Ardis T. Williams Sr. Auditorium.
Davis said Miss Congeniality represents someone who is kind and serves as a helping hand to others, adding that the title reflects a person who goes above and beyond in service.
In addition to the Miss Congeniality honor, Davis received a Leadership Award and was among the scholarship recipients.
“I felt very good when I won all of my awards because I prayed for this and I knew I deserved this because I worked hard for it,” Davis said.
The debutante process lasted from September through February.
Davis is a senior at River City Early College, where she is active in numerous organizations. She serves as Student Government Association treasurer, participates in Student Council and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta and Key Club. She also serves as Gator Girl captain.
Her academic and school honors include A/B Honor Roll, National Honor Society, the President’s List, the Dean’s List, Most Spirited Gator Girl and a two-time Most Dedicated Gator Girl award.
Davis enjoys dancing, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
Within the community, Davis is a former member of the Mu Xi Omega Pearls Girls Club sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She serves as a Vicksburg Junior High Gatorette mentor, has participated in the Jackson Street clothing ministry and assists teacher aides at Beechwood Elementary as a Beechwood Buddy.
She is also a member of the House of Israel Hebrew Cultural Center, where she sings in the choir and participates in the Sabbath school youth class.
After graduation, Davis plans to attend Clark Atlanta University to major in cybersecurity and computer science. She hopes to one day work in a cybersecurity department for the government.
Davis describes herself as polished, unforgettable, powerful and unapologetically herself. Her personal motto is, “Be positive, patient, pretty, peaceful, and prayed up!”
She is a Red Cord and Blue Cord recipient and serves as a committee member for the River City Black History Program.
Davis is the daughter of Arthur Davis, Genoa Williams and Monica Williams.
