Vicksburg man sentenced after victim was shot 12 times
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to attempted murder.
Judge James Chaney sentenced 21-year-old Rashad Williams to 40 years, with 18 years to serve. Williams was represented by attorney Kim Nailor.
Assistant District Attorney Branan Southerland represented the state.
Court documents show that in December 2024, Williams walked into the Fastbreak Gas Station and opened fire on a male victim, shooting him 12 times. The victim survived. The incident was captured on video.
While out on bail, Williams was charged with felony domestic violence.
Chaney ordered Williams to immediately begin serving his sentence in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
