Vicksburg Mall welcomes back movie theater

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg residents will once again have the option to see movies on the big screen right in their hometown as the Vicksburg Mall prepares to reopen its movie theater. 

James Porter, General Manager of the Vicksburg Mall said the plans are in motion to reopen the theater this Friday, April 24; although, he cautioned it might get pushed to next week. 

Thomas Theater, a company out of Houston, Texas, will be the owners of the big screen cinema. By the time the theater opens, four of the facilities six screens will have been completely renovated and ready for showtimes. The other two will continue to be under renovations until they are complete. 

The new owners also completely updated the lobby and concession area of the facility. 

Porter said that was not all. By Summer 2026, the mall will have two indoor pickle ball courts.

“We’ll be the only place in town with indoor courts,” said Porter. 

Additionally, Porter said an arcade is being constructed near the movie theater. He also said a gym is being constructed and a beauty salon will once again be open inside the mall.

“We have big things coming,” said Porter. “There will be a lot to offer.”
