Jonah Artman and Ka’Ryn Henderson named Warren Central Athletes of the Year
VICKSBURG,Miss. (VDN) — Jonah Artman and Ka’Ryn Henderson have been named the Male and Female Athletes of the Year at Warren Central High School. Both seniors were officially recognized last week at the school’s athletic banquet.
Henderson, a standout multi-sport athlete for the Lady Vikes, excelled in basketball, track and flag football during her senior year. In basketball, she earned the team’s Best Defensive Player award for her performances on the court.
On the track team, Henderson was named the squad’s Best Sprinter and was a member of the 4×200-meter relay team that finished second at the state meet.
Henderson also starred as the quarterback for Warren Central’s flag football team where she helped lead the Lady Vikes to a district championship, a 6-1 record and a trip to the state tournament.
Artman, a two-sport athlete, shined in both football and soccer during the school year. In soccer, he earned Co-MVP honors after helping lead the Vikings to their third consecutive North State Championship appearance. He recently signed a scholarship to continue his soccer career at East Mississippi Community College.
On the football field, Artman established himself as one of the top kickers in the state. He broke numerous field goal records to become Warren County’s all-time leading kicker while helping Warren Central capture its first state championship in three decades in 2025. Artman also earned national recognition as a highly ranked kicking prospect.
