St. Aloysius Junior High Secures 42-8 Victory Over Madison St. Joe
St. Aloysius Junior High School improved to 2-0 with a dominant 42-8 victory over Madison St. Joe on Thursday.
Caden Crocker led the way with three rushing touchdowns and a punt return TD as the Flashes remained unbeaten. St. Aloysius controlled the game on the ground, with Crocker and John Robert Reeder picking up big yards behind an aggressive offensive line.
Reeder put St. Aloysius on the board in the first quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run to give the Flashes a 6-0 lead. Owen Mallard helped set the tone defensively with several key stops early in the game.
Crocker took over in the second quarter, breaking free for touchdown runs of 55(punt return) and 33 yards. He also ran in a successful 2-point conversion to give St. Aloysius a 20-0 advantage.
Madison St. Joe responded with a kickoff return for a touchdown, but the Flashes continued to pile up points.
Quarterback Graham Cappert scored on a 20-yard run before Crocker added a 27-yard touchdown run just before halftime. Reeder converted the 2-point attempt to give St. Aloysius a 34-8 halftime lead.
Defensively, Reed Davidson came up with several key tackles in the second quarter, while Noah Ponder recorded a sack.
St. Aloysius gave Davidson carries in the second half as the Flashes continued to lean on their rushing attack.
Crocker capped his four-touchdown performance with a 7-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. He also ran in the 2-point conversion to make it 42-8.
Jack Stanley recorded a sack in the fourth quarter. The St. Aloysius defense did not allow an offensive touchdown and was anchored up front by Marnes Marais, Ponder, Knox Denton, Oliver Kajdan and Stanley.
