St. Aloysius Struggles Against Washington School
St. Aloysius High Schools football team took a 34-7 loss to related coverage on Friday, leaving the Flashes at 0-3 as they continue to search for their first win of the 2026 season. The Flashes faced a 34-0 deficit by halftime but responded with a much stronger defensive effort over the final two quarters, keeping Washington off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.
Key Players and Game Highlights
Quarterback Grant Gattle went 7 of 22 through the air for 46 yards. Landyn Davis was his leading target, catching four passes for 35 yards, while Keller Bradley led the ground game with 49 rushing yards. Bradley provided a spark on the other side of the ball as well, intercepting two passes for the Flashes. Walt Andrews was also active defensively and finished with over 10 tackles. St. Aloysius broke through in the fourth quarter on special teams. The Flashes blocked a punt near the goal line, and Noah Ponder recovered the ball in the end zone for their lone touchdown of the night. The Flashes will look to get into the win column next week when they host Riverfield in their MAIS District 3-3A opener.
