Porter’s Chapel Academy’s football team battled back from a 24-point deficit but came up short in a 33-22 loss to Briarfield Academy on Friday.
PCA’s Comeback Effort Falls Short
The loss dropped the Eagles to 1-3 on the season.
PCA found itself trailing 24-0 before its offense came alive. The Eagles scored three touchdowns in the second half and eventually pulled within 10 points late in the fourth quarter.
Key Players in PCA’s Performance
Lakelan Pecanty helped spark the comeback and finished with 108 rushing yards. He also caught five passes for 20 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Pecanty put PCA on the board with a 13-yard touchdown run in the final seconds of the third quarter.
A long kickoff return by Grayson Price helped set up the Eagles’ next score. Quarterback Thomas Antwine capped the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.
Antwine later connected with Pecanty for a 20-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 33-22 with 2:35 remaining. PCA was unable to regain possession following the score.
Pecanty and Antwine also contributed defensively with nine tackles apiece. Myles Randle finished with six tackles, while Cade Cantin and Carson Hays each recorded five.
