Lassiter was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James T. Edwards, Jr. She was united in marriage to the late Rev. Lewis Lassiter.

She was employed by Monsour’s Restaurant until her retirement. She enjoyed watching soap operas, playing bingo, and lending a helping hand to others whenever she could.

She was lovingly cared for by her spiritual daughter, Callie Williams, and the caring staff of Heritage House Nursing Home. She also shared a special bond with Peyton E. Lassiter, Jr. and Trina Lassiter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Dan Ethel Collins, Evelyn Darden, Jessie Robertson, and Alberta Thompson; and her brother, Columbus Jack Bolden.
