A Vicksburg man was arrested in St. Francisville, Louisiana, after allegedly breaking into a church and entering a nearby residence naked, where he reportedly touched a woman’s forehead while she was sleeping.

According to St. Francisville Police, officers responded to a home on Royal Street on Oct. 20 after a woman reported that a nude man had entered her residence and touched her forehead while she was asleep.

Officers arrived at the scene and detained the suspect, who was later identified as 49-year-old Heath Alan Brumfield of Vicksburg.

Police said Brumfield entered the woman’s home through an unlocked door without her permission. During the incident, he was also in possession of a fire extinguisher that investigators later determined had been taken from St. Francisville United Methodist Church.

Further investigation revealed that Brumfield had been captured on surveillance footage earlier that night entering the church hall and removing the fire extinguisher.

Brumfield was taken into custody and evaluated by medical professionals before being booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison as a fugitive.

He was later transferred to the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he was booked on charges of simple burglary, simple battery and unauthorized entry to an uninhabited dwelling.
