Cracker Barrel in Vicksburg has reopened
An early Sunday morning grill fire at Cracker Barrel shut the operation down.
Numerous units with the Vicksburg Fire Department under the command of Battalion 1 and Incident Commander Tim Love responded to the call. Witnesses stated that the grill was undergoing a deep clean when the gas line to the grill kinked up and split. That caused a lot of gas to enter the restaurant and it ignited with pilot lights on the grill. That set off the fire suppression system that was able to contain the fire.
However, the gas line was still leaking so firefighters had to shut off the gas to the building. The gas cannot be turned back on until a qualified contractor has pressure-tested the lines. Then the city has to come approve and tag the unit.
That happened today and Cracker Barrel opened back up in the late afternoon.
