Have a (snow) ball: Robyn Lea’s reading challenge is on

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Local State Farm agent Robyn Lea is encouraging young readers to stay engaged this summer through her Summer Reading Bingo program, which runs from June 5 through July 31.
Designed as a fun and interactive way to keep kids reading, the challenge invites children in kindergarten through sixth grade to complete a BINGO card by reading one book per themed box. As each book is finished, readers write the book title in the corresponding square and color it in.
Once all 24 boxes are completed — including the free space — children can bring their finished card to Lea’s office at 2170 S. Frontage Road to claim a free snow ball voucher from Heavenly Snowballs.

As an added bonus, the first child to complete their card for the summer program will also have an article written about them and their achievement by the Vicksburg Daily News.
“We just hope everybody has fun with this,” Lea said. “You can read as a family, or you can read to your children if they are not quite ready to read a whole book yet. We just want kids to read.”
