Hinds County Deputies in standoff with shooter on Hwy 27 near Utica

After 2 p.m. this afternoon, Hinds County Deputies were alerted to an individual shooting at traffic on Hwy 27 in Hinds County.

At this time, there are no confirmed victims or property damage by the shooter on vehicles or people. Currently, numerous Hinds County units are at the scene securing the area.

The shooter is near 6600 Hwy 27 near its intersection with the Natchez Trace just north of Utica, Mississippi. According to Sheriff Tyree Jones, no one has been injured in the incident.
