Home to be demolished on Second North Street

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The City of Vicksburg has approved the demolition of a property on Second North Street at a Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting held Monday, April 20.

The Board approved the demolition on the request of Community Development Director Jeff Richardson. 

The events leading to the demolition began in the summer of 2025 when the property owner of the 1114 Second North Street parcel, was notified. After some improvements to the property were the project was placed on hold; however, according to Richardson, the repairs were not enough to get the property safely into compliance. 

Following a proper bidding procedures, the City awarded Malcolm Carson of Carson Construction & Demo, LLC, the demolition bid in the amount of $13,000.
