VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)— Jordan Tillman has been crowned Vicksburg High School’s 2025 Homecoming Queen, while Ja’Niyah Mazie will serve as Maid of Honor. Both were selected by the senior football players to represent the school at this year’s homecoming.

Tillman said she first learned of her selection from family members.

“I was shocked and happy but I remained humbled,” she said.

Tillman is active at Vicksburg High, serving as a Key Club member, National Honor Society member, National Technical Honor Society member, Mu Alpha Theta member, varsity basketball cheer captain and Student Council representative. She is the daughter of the late Ashante O’Neal and Shannon Tillman.

“I want to thank my classmates and friends, and I hope you all have a great football season,” she added.

Mazie said being named Maid of Honor was a special moment for her.

“It’s an honor and I’m grateful for everyone who voted for me to be a part of this,” she said.

She learned of her selection after getting off a bus from a football game when her mother shared the news.

“I just laughed because I couldn’t cry,” she said.

Mazie is also highly involved at Vicksburg High, serving as a varsity football cheer captain, Key Club member, National Honor Society member, Student Council senior class president and Yearbook Committee member. She is the daughter of Derrick and Kaynetra Tucker.

“Thank you to the football players who voted for me,” she added.

Tillman and Mazie will be crowned on Oct. 3 during halftime of the Vicksburg High football game.
