Lady Flashes crushed Carroll Academy 13-3 on Saturday

St. Aloysius crushed Carroll Academy 13-3 on Saturday to improve to 2-1 on the year.

The Lady Flashes trailed 2-0 in the first inning but quickly picked things up in the second. Madelyn Kavanaugh got St. Al on the board first with a single which was followed by a double from Kyleigh Cooper. Megan Theriot wrapped up the second inning with a hit to give St. Al the 4-2 lead.

Carroll Academy earned one run in the third from a sacrifice but the Lady Flashes responded well. Kennedy Blassingame hit an RBI which was followed by a 3-run double from Mageigh Haller that put St. Al up 8-3. Madison Spencer, Haller, and Mallory Spencer all hit RBIs before the end of the third and Ruthie Britton hit a two-run double that led to the 13-3 win.

Mallory Spencer only allowed two hits while striking out six batters. She also went 3 for 3 at the plate. Theriot(2 RBI) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs while Cooper(1 RBI), Kavanaugh(1 RBI), Britton(2 RBIs), Madison(, Blassingame(1 RBI), and Haller(4 RBIs) all had one hit.

St. Al is 2-1 to start the year and they will host Manchester on Monday.
