Lady Flashes opened their season with a win

Vicksburg, Ms-St. Aloysius girls’ basketball team opened their season with a 45-28 win over the Mississippi School for the Deaf on Tuesday night. The Lady Flashes hosted the game where they made a second-half comeback to take home the victory.

St. Al trailed 13-4 in the first quarter as Olivia Larsen and Annslee Averett both knocked down shots. By halftime, the Lady Flashes cut their deficit down to 15-14 after Farrell Roberson and Taryn Lusby got on the board.

Coming out of halftime, St. Aloysius took over as Larsen and Lusby both knocked down 3-pointers while Megan Theriot brought in a couple of layups. Going into the final quarter the Lady Flashes had a 32-22 lead but they quickly put the game away after Theriot nailed a 3-pointer along with a shot by Mallory Hobson. 

Theriot led the Lady Flashes with 12 points and Lusby added 11 in the win. Roberson and Averett both scored seven points each and Larsen scored six. Hobson finished with two points.
