Lynethia Thompson named Jefferson County Middle School Head Cheerleading Coach
FAYETTE, Miss. – Jefferson County School District proudly announces the promotion of Ms. Lynethia Thompson as the Head Coach of the Jefferson County Middle School’s cheerleaders. With a remarkable background in education and a passion for fostering team spirit, Ms. Thompson is set to lead the squad to new heights of success and unity.
Thompson is a proud graduate of Jefferson County High School and Alcorn State University. She earned degrees in both Biology and Workforce Education Leadership. Ms. Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She is currently serving as a 7th-grade Cyber Foundations teacher at Jefferson County Middle School. Thompson has dedicated 13 years to the district, demonstrating unwavering commitment and dedication to her students.
Ms. Thompson’s coaching journey began as the assistant cheer coach for the Jefferson County Middle School squad. While there, she honed her skills and demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities over three successful years. Under her guidance, the squad flourished, embodying a spirit of enthusiasm, recognition, and unity that captured the hearts of all who witnessed their performances.
In the words of Ms. Thompson, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Furthermore, with her strong work ethic, passion for teamwork, and dedication to excellence, Ms. Thompson is poised to lead the Jefferson County Middle School cheerleaders to even greater achievements in the upcoming season.
