Miss Mississippi hosted a Pickleball Tournament over the weekend – VIDEO
The Miss Mississippi organization hosted a Pickleball Fund Raiser at Halls Ferry Park over the weekend.
Several Miss Mississippi Teen delegates were at the park to support the event.
“We are having a pickleball tournament to benefit the Miss Mississippi organization, which in turn benefits these beautiful ladies,” said event organizer Lisa Boleware while gesturing to the five Miss Mississippi Teen contestants surrounding her.
This is the first time the Miss Mississippi organization has held a pickleball tournament but it won’t be the last. “We had sixty-four teams…from all over the state!” Boleware went on to say, “This tournament would not have been a success without our wonderful sponsors.”
The Miss Mississippi Scholarship Pageant is a preliminary of the Miss America Pageant. The contest began in 1934 and has been held in Vicksburg since 1958. The Miss Mississippi Pageant provides more money than any other scholarship pageant in the Miss America Organization.
Boleware also discussed the upcoming tennis tournament this weekend at the same location: “We are having the Miss Mississippi Tennis Tournament. So more delegates will be back next weekend as they help and volunteer in all different areas.”
You can register for the Tennis Tournament by clicking this link. Â
Boleware noted that even though the registration deadline has passed, this is a fundraiser, and they will still let a team register after the deadline, so sign up today!
