Paul Wilson Jr. promoted to Defensive Coordinator at VHS
Vicksburg native Paul Wilson Jr. has been promoted to Defensive Coordinator of the Vicksburg High School football team.
Wilson, who recently served as defensive backs coach, was officially promoted earlier this week.
Wilson began his coaching career in 2021 when he was hired as the defensive coordinator at Vicksburg Junior High School. Two years later he was promoted to the high school where he helped the Gators reach the first round of the playoffs in 2023. His defensive backs finished with 13 interceptions last season.
Wilson is a 2016 graduate of VHS where he starred at defensive back. He went on to play college football at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, University of Northern Colorado and University of West Alabama.
