PCA grabbed a 63-32 win over Briarfield

Porter’s Chapel Academy girl’s basketball team came out with a 63-32 win over Briar Academy on Thursday.

Tough defense and a productive offense helped the Lady Eagles secure a 36-9 halftime lead as Jae’la Smith and Sophie Masterson knocked down some early 3-pointers.

Lauren Madison went hard inside the paint in the second half and finished with 15 points 10 rebounds. Marley Bufkin managed to get on the board late in the game and added six points on the night.

PCA maintained a heavy lead throughout the night while Smith continued to dominate in the win by leading with 37 points, eight assists and seven steals.

Masterson scored three points and grabbed seven rebounds on the night while Mia Abdo pitched in two.

PCA will host Tallulah Academy on Thursday.
