PG girls’ basketball team crushed Magee and advanced to the third round

Port Gibson High School’s girls’ basketball team secured a decisive 67-48 victory over Magee on Friday, propelling them to the third round of the playoffs.

Camara Evans and Rekiyah Washington led the charge in the first half for PG, showcasing their
sharpshooting skills to establish a commanding 36-25 halftime lead. Following the break, Ger’Kiya Flowers added to the momentum with a crucial 3-pointer, while Washington continued to dominate in the paint. The Lady
Waves maintained their lead throughout the game, demonstrating resilience to clinch the hard-earned victory.

Washington led with 20 points and Flowers added 18. Evans put up 12 points and Amiyah Hedrick finished with 10.

Next up, PG is set to face off against St. Patrick at Holmes CC on Friday, poised to continue their winning streak.
