Port Gibson boys’ basketball team advance to the third round
Port Gibson High boys’ basketball team made a thrilling advancement to the third round of the playoffs following their impressive 79-63 victory over Crystal Springs on Saturday.
The game opened with an electrifying momentum as Clyde Johnson and Dameon White showcased their skills, propelling the Blue Waves to a commanding 23-14 lead in the first quarter. The team further solidified
their advantage by halftime, entering
the break with a 42-34 lead, with Jaylen
Hill and Kam Brown contributing crucial points.
During the second half, White delivered a standout performance by sinking two crucial 3-pointers, while Brown demonstrated his prowess with several successful inside shots that proved vital to Port Gibson’s victory.
Brown emerged as the top scorer with an impressive tally of 23 points, closely followed by White with 16 points. Johnson and Hill also made significant contributions with 13 and 11
points, respectively.
The Blue Waves are set to challenge Tylertown at Holmes Community College on Friday.
