Retired Restauranteur Eddie Monsour has died

Edward “Eddie” Monsour Obituary
Edward Brooks Monsour was born on August 13, 1947. He passed on February 5, 2025, at the age of 77 of natural causes. Eddie graduated from HV Cooper High as a proud member of the “Greenies” in 1965. After graduation he attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He spent his life devoted to the skills of the culinary field. Throughout his 30-year career serving in the Army’s 412th unit. He was awarded The Philip A. Connelly Award as the Army’s top food program two times. He continued his culinary voyage as a restaurant entrepreneur known as the Monsour’s. For a number of years, he served his community as a member of the Red-Carpet Club Committee and as the President of the Restaurant Association. In his down time you could find him at a Saturday morning card game, or in front of a TV watching an afternoon western or baseball game; otherwise, you would find him behind the bar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Monsour and Janie Bell Monsour; son, Neal Monsour; brother, Monk Monsour.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Monsour; daughter, Caroline Stuckey (Ward), grandchildren, Sullivan Stuckey and Jack Stuckey; stepson, Oscar Barnes, Jr. (Brandi); step-daughters, Kristy Brevik (Kevin), Melissa Lucht (Kevin), Joanna Byrum (Donnie); brother, Bill Monsour (Linda); numerous grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greenies of 1965, Monsours restaurant staff of the past and Army 412th.
A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating the service. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
