Crime
Shooting spree in Vicksburg and Warren County
A number of shootings have happened in Vicksburg and Warren County the past several days. Last night, just before 9:30 p.m., a two car shootout happened in the 300 block of Grange Hall Road. At least seven Vicksburg Police units responded to the shootout and blocked the roadway for a period of time while they investigated the crime scene.
At around midnight Thursday night/Friday morning, a house on Fuches Road in the county was shot up by two individuals. According to someone close to the situation at least three adults and a two-year-old baby were in that house and over 30 rounds were shot into it.
A credible source has said the numerous shootings the past several days are related. They tied together the shooting on Gibson at Halls Ferry, the shooting on Funches, the shooting that resulted in a car crashing into the gas station by Ameristar and the shooting last night on Grange Hall. These shootings are not believed to be related to the homicide on Locust Street May 29
The Vicksburg Police Department has indicated they are preparing a press release. The Vicksburg Daily News is awaiting a call from Sheriff Pace to discuss the shootings. We will update you once we have more information.
