VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Teryn Green has verbally committed to play football at the University of South Alabama.

Green announced his commitment Sunday via Facebook, posting a photo wearing Jaguars gear while standing beside the program’s Veteran Bowl trophy.

The rising senior at Hartfield Academy had several offers on the table before choosing South Alabama. His list included Arkansas State, Southeastern Louisiana, Western Kentucky, Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, Mississippi Valley State, and Navy.

Green played a key role in Hartfield’s 2024 state championship run, finishing the season with 43 tackles and three interceptions. His performance helped solidify his reputation as one of Mississippi’s top defensive backs of the Class of 2025.

Teryn is expected to sign with the Jaguars during the early signing period later this year. The Vicksburg Daily News will follow up with coverage at that time.
