The Scoop Celebrates Their One Year Anniversary
The Scoop Ice Cream shop on 61 North, in the old Bops Location, is celebrating their one year anniversary as “The Scoop.”
Owner and concept creator Adam Cook, most famously of Cook Tractor, came up with the concept for The Scoop last summer. Cook says “We decided not to renew the Bop’s Frozen Custard Franchise after 10 years but we weren’t ready to throw in the towel, said Cook. “We wanted to continue serving the Frozen Custard treats people love but also incorporate a new homemade ice cream concept. 99% of the Ice Cream we serve is made by us locally right here in Vicksburg! This enables us to offer a fresher and higher quality product. It also enables us to create multiple flavors not available anywhere else.”
Cook said the biggest seller is their Banana Pudding Ice Cream. It is, simply put, ice cream that tastes just like banana pudding. “Our next best sellers are chocolate and vanilla, ironically, and then lately there has been a strong following for our white chocolate mousse yogurt which is patterned after the old TCBY store that was in Vicksburg years ago,” explained Cook. The Scoop also has created a gluten free-dairy free cookies and cream for people with certain dietary restrictions.
This Thursday, August 1, will mark one year that The Scoop has been open. They will host an anniversary celebration and will roll out several new flavors. Some of the new flavors are Chocolate Jalapeno, Milky Way, Home Made Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and Brownie Batter. “In our flavor testing the Chocolate Jalapeno has been a surprise favorite so far,” said Cook. “It’s a really good Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream with a little bit of a kick to your taste buds in it.”
Located next to Fox’s Pizza off 61 North, The Scoop will be open from 12 to 9 this Thursday to celebrate the one-year anniversary with specials all day!
