VICKSBURG, Miss. – Warren Central High School football player TK Qualls has signed a football scholarship to play at Holmes Community College. Qualls signed on the dotted line on Thursday morning to secure his future as a collegiate athlete.

Qualls played under Head Coach Josh Morgan where the Vikings went 9-4 in 2024 along with a trip to the North State Championship.

The Viking defense was the soul of the team this season where Qualls happened to be a huge part of the success.

Before making his mark on the varsity level, tragedy struck the young athlete in his freshman year when he suffered from a fractured neck. After much therapy and missing his sophomore year, TK managed to get back on the team and make up for lost time.

“I was told I would never play again, but Coach Josh never gave up on me and I came out better and stronger,” TK said.

TK handled business on the defensive line with a reputation of beating everyone off the ball. He finished the year with nearly 100 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, and seven sacks.

“I feel like this was a good year and my stats improved a lot since last season,” he added. Getting to North State was one of my favorite memories of all time.”

TK chose Holmes CC over schools like Northwest Mississippi CC, Coahoma CC, Co-Lin, Northeast Mississippi CC, East Mississippi CC, and Southwest Mississippi CC. He testified that Holmes CC was the better fit for him as he took the next step in his life.

“I feel like I connected with the coaching staff at Holmes more and I know they have something good going on down there now,” TK said.

Qualls’ senior year was nothing short of special, receiving the District Co-Defensive MVP Award as well as All-County and All-District Honors. He will also be soon featured as VDN’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year next week.

TK graduated high school early and will join his new team next month in January where he will fight for a starting spot in 2025.

Although Holmes is his next destination, TK didn’t forget to mention those who never left his side.

“I want to thank my mom, brother coaches, little league coaches, and my teachers for allowing me to get to this point.”
