United Way of West Central Mississippi and Delta Force Long Term Recovery Continue to Rebuild Rolling Fork

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Two years after the devastating tornado that struck Rolling Fork and surrounding areas, the work of rebuilding lives and homes continues, thanks to the generosity and commitment of many. Among the key supporters, United Way of West Central Mississippi has provided $500,000 to Delta Force Long Term Recovery to support sustained disaster relief and housing recovery efforts in the region.
The funding has helped construct 24 homes in Issaquena County—one of the counties served by United Way of West Central Mississippi—bringing renewed hope to families and individuals affected by the storm’s aftermath.
“This work is far from over, but each home built is a testament to the resilience of the Rolling Fork community and the unwavering support from those who care,” said Michele Connelly, executive director of United Way of West Central Mississippi. “We are incredibly grateful for every dollar that has helped move families closer to healing and stability.”
Delta Force Long Term Recovery, the local organization leading much of the on-the-ground work, continues to coordinate with partners, volunteers and stakeholders to restore and rebuild. Its mission remains focused on long-term solutions for long-term recovery.
Rolling Fork’s path to restoration stands as a reminder that recovery doesn’t happen overnight—but with united effort, lasting change is possible.
