Vicksburg High School pulled off a 71-67 win against Warren Central in front of a sold out crowd on Friday night.

The Vikings had the lead early in the first quarter after big layups from Garrett Orgas-Fisher but the Gators eventually went ahead after Kealon Bass popped a 3-pointer. Davian Williams and Mikey Johnson both put down a few shots to give the Gators a 21-14 lead.

Larry Reynolds Jr. and Fisher both contributed points inside the paint in the second quarter for WC as they kept things close but Williams put away two more 3-pointers along with a few shots from Tyler Henderson that gave VHS a 38-28 halftime lead.

Coming out of halftime, Kam Bailey used his height to earn three layups while Williams nailed another 3-pointer. The Vikings didn’t let that discourage them as Gaylon Turner came alive and pulled off some inside shots while Roosevelt Harris Jr. hit a long 3-pointer.

Up 52-46 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Gators were able to stay ahead after Johnson and Williams each made a 3-pointer while Bass and Henderson contributed from the free throw line. Turner took things into his own hands as he flew by multiple defenders to keep earning points.
