Vicksburg man pleads guilty to child molestation

Vicksburg, Miss.-A Vicksburg man has entered a guilty plea on a child molestation charge. Justin Melzer stood in front of Circuit Court Judge Toni Terrett last week and pleaded guilty.

Melzer was first indicted back in 2022 when he was 19 years old. The victim was said to be under the age of 12 years old at the time of the crime. He received a $75,000 bond from Judge Jeff Crevitt when he was first arrested. 

Melzer will be sentenced next week where he faces the maximum sentence of 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Assistant District Attorney Michael Warren is representing the state in this case.
