Vicksburg woman charged with Murder

On Wednesday, May 01, 2024 at about 1:50 a.m., Officers with the Vicksburg Police
Department responded to the area of Grove Street and Hayes Street in reference to a shooting.

While on scene, Officers observed a black male identified as 34 year old Hakeem Samall Burnett on the ground suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the body. Vicksburg Emergency Services arrived on scene and transported Burnett to Merit Health River Region, where Burnett succumbed to his injuries. Rheuvonia Ramekia Buck was arrested and charged with Murder, pending her initial court appearance.

The motive for the shooting is believed to be
domestic related.
