Vicksburg’s Jae’la Smith named Pearl River’s Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (PRCC Athletics) — Vicksburg native Jae’la Smith has been named the ForrestHealth Wildcats of the Week at Pearl River Community College. 

Smith totaled 35 points over the weekend for the Wildcats, scoring 13 against National Park on Friday and 22 against ASU Mid-South on Saturday. She made her presence felt in all areas, adding 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Smith was also efficient from long range, shooting 60 percent from beyond the arc by going 3-for-5 on three-pointers. 

This season, Smith is averaging 15 points per game and is shooting an efficient 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. She’s also averaging 7.5 rebounds per game and has recorded six assists and four steals through the first four contests of the year.
