Vicksburg native and former Warren Central High School star baseball player Carlisle Koestler has accepted a job as a Minor League Pitching Coach with the Texas Rangers.

Koestler, who spent the last year on Hinds CC staff, made the announcement on social media on Sunday.

“I’m excited to announce I have accepted a job as a Minor League Pitching Coach for the Texas Rangers,” the post read. I will miss my time at Hinds Community College and can’t thank Dan Rives enough for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a special group for the last 1 1/2 years.”

Koestler played baseball at Hinds CC, Southeastern Louisiana University and two years at Mississippi State where he was a part of the 2021 National Championship team. He also spent time as the Director of Baseball Operations at Samford University
