WC defeated VHS on Tuesday night

Warren Central soccer teams defeated Vicksburg High on Tuesday night.

Lady Vikes:

The Lady Vikes came away with a close 1-0 win over Vicksburg High on Tuesday.

“The Gators fought really hard and we had to play to their strength and made some adjustments in the second half but at least we got the one goal in,” WC Head Coach Jeremy Lawrence said.

The fight between the two rival schools consisted in a heavy defensive performance on both sides as the game remained tied at zero at halftime. Senior Gloria Hall would be the one to score the lone goal that eventually gave the Vikings the win. Hayleigh Simmons and Lili Kistler (9) both grabbed multiple saves to keep the score low in the hard-fought district match.

The Lady Vikes will host Columbus on Friday and VHS will host Riverside on Friday.

Boys:

The Vikings ended the night with a 4-0 win over Vicksburg.

Luke Bond earned the first goal of the night with the assist coming from Laney Lewis. Tyler Godshaw got the second goal shortly before halftime as Jacob Porter contributed with the assist.

Jonah Artman and Daniel Westcott both earned goals in the second half the seal the win for the Vikings.
