WC defeated Wingfield 81-68; Lady Vikes fell short in overtime

Warren Central High school boys’ basketball team ended Tuesday night with a 81-68 win over Wingfield.
By the fourth quarter, WC was up by nearly 30 points as Gaylon Turner led with 27 points, which included two dunks, four steals and five assists. Garrett Orgas-Fisher put up 11 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. Roosevelt Harris Jr. had 10 assists and nine points while Jaylon Winters brought in nine points and six steals.
Teryn Green scored six points and Jonathan Henderson added five while Robert Williams, Ronnie Blossom, Larry Reynolds Jr. and Anaias Thompson all had four points. Blossom and Reynolds both had six rebounds.
Lady Vikes:
The Lady Vikes took a close 49-46 overtime loss to Wingfield as they had their best performance this season. Zaria Wilson put up eight points for WC and Harmony Wright added seven. Shay Hodges led with 12 in the loss while Mariah Harrison dropped six. Joniya Scroggins had five points, Jakya Perkins six points and Lindsey Bridges four points.
WC will travel to Clinton on Friday.
