WC will face George County in the State Championship

Warren Central High School’s baseball team is gearing up to compete for the state championship a week from today, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Trustmark Park in Pearl.

The Vikings secured the North State Title last Saturday by defeating Center Hill 5-0 in game two. This championship series marks WC’s first shot at a title since 2001.

With a record of 19-11, WC will be facing off against George County (28-5), who recently clinched consecutive victories over Pearl River
Central with scores of 4-3 and 12-1.

The showdown begins with Game One scheduled for 4 p.m.
